HEC Paris in Qatar - the region's leading hub for Executive Education, offering a complete portfolio of management programs including the first ever international Executive MBA (EMBA) in Qatar - has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer and Academic Dean Professor Laoucine Kerbache, who begins his duties with immediate effect.
Professor Kerbache holds a PhD (1984), an MSc (1981) and a BSc (1979) in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts in the US, and an International Teaching Program Certificate (2005) from IMD-Lausanne, Switzerland.
He previously held the position of Associate Dean, Director of the HEC Paris PhD Program for five years, and he is Full Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management. He has been teaching (Masters, MBA, PhD, and executive programs), researching and consulting in the field of operations management, logistics, and applied quantitative methods for more than 30 years.
He has published numerous papers in international journals and is also the co-author of 'Industrial and Logistic Management: Designing and Managing the Supply Chain' in 2007. Professor Kerbache has extensive teaching experience globally (Africa, Europe, Asia, and MENA regions) and has acted as consultant to many international organisations in designing and implementing programs in newly created business schools and universities worldwide.
The Professor commented: "Naturally I am both honoured and excited to be taking up the position of CEO and Academic Dean of HEC Paris in Qatar. There have been, with no exaggeration, tremendous achievements by my predecessor, Antoine Hyafil, and he's definitely going to be a hard act to follow.
"Nonetheless, in my new position I hope to carry on from where Antoine has left off, to continue with the expansion of HEC Paris in Qatar and to establish the organization as the premier Executive Education institution in the region. It's a challenge I am looking forward to immensely and I know that with the support of the Faculty and Qatar Foundation this vision will become a reality."¬
