The Role

The Role Supervises plant technical group personnel and ensures they work in a safe, incident-free manner. Sponsors plant improvement plans and capital projects. Sponsors plant quality management systems and certifications.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES

Document and maintain practices, and procedures that ensure safe, incident-free, cost effective execution of capital projects. Maintain procedures managing plant process safety information and quality management systems.

2.TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Develop and sponsor group training programs to ensure all personnel work in a safe, incident-free manner. Develop practices, procedures and training programs that improves the technical capabilities and skill of Technical Group personnel. Must be able to mentor and oversee project and process engineers in their technical roles.

3.CONTINUOUS RELIABILITY IMPROVEMENT

Provide support for plant improvement teams. Identify and track efficiency and cost data associated with plant operations. Develop and communicate strategic improvement plans. Ensure improvement plans are aligned with and integrated into plant budgeting processes.

4.STRATEGIC PLANNING AND COMMUNICATIONS

Coordinate the development and execution of PCC capital projects. Support the preparation of manpower plans, expense budgets, and capital budgets that ensure the efficient execution of plant operations and capital projects.

5.CONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT

Audit and provide oversight and coordination of project contract personnel to ensure they work safely and provide high quality services for plant projects.

6.DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT

Ensure critical Department policies, practices and procedures are documented and maintained in accordance with the plant Operational Excellence System Standards and Specifications. Carry out document management and retention activities as scheduled and in a timely manner.

OPERATING CONTEXT, BOUNDARIES AND DECISION MAKING

The job holder supervises all the activities of the Technical Group. They will support the Nylon Conversion Project through design, owner’s cost procurement, commissioning and start up activities. Sponsors quality management systems, improvements, and certifications for all plants.

Internally works closely with all groups to plan and prioritize plant support and capital project activities. Sponsors and supports plant improvement teams with data and research.

Externally has contact with counterparts in SChem, and DuPont to identify and adopt best practices applicable to capital project and plant support activities.

Decisions: Helps support decisions relating to plant capital projects and project prioritization. Makes recommendations and develops proposals for changes in procedures to support best practices and improve the efficiency the plant capital programs. Requirements

Requirements Qualifications: Must have a minimum of a BS in Engineering.

Training: Must have knowledge and experience providing support to plant operations and developing and executing capital projects.

Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written English communications skills. Proficient in MS-Office programs. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities. Must be able to coach and mentor a multi-national technical work force.

Experience: Must have a minimum of 10 years of technical experience supporting projects or chemical plant operations. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. About the Company
