Environmental Manager â Saudi Arabia Ref: 4012 The company: An International Construction Group of European origin currently expanding its operations in Saudi Arabia and who are involved in multi-billion dollar heavy industrial projects, power plants, desalination plants, marine projects & railroad projects, are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Environmental Manager who has a professional HSE background preferably from the construction industry and with between 5 and 10 years experience in environmental issues. Responsibilities: ? To maintain regular and effective liaison with all levels of management, the clients and the Environmental Local Authorities. ? To develop and maintain safety working procedures and Environmental plans as necessary for controlling site and associated office normal or emergency activities. ? To report and investigate all Environmental incidents. ? To keep and maintain all Environmental records required by the IMS, ISO 14001. ? To recommend changes to the IMS (HSE aspects) as required. ? To develop projects Environmental Training plans and ensure that all personnel attend the site HSE induction program and all other specific training modules. ? To perform regular inspections on our own workforce and our subcontractors to identify compliance with the IMS (HSE aspects), including recommendations for corrective or preventive action where appropriate. ? To ensure that a system to record, assess and monitor potentially hazardous substances brought to site is in place. ? To assist and advice all the members of the project management team to work in an environmentally friendly manner. ? To ensure that all measurements of Environmental performance elements are properly implemented. ? To evaluate compliance with the applicable legal and other requirements. ? To supervise and evaluate environmental engineers when applicable. ? Providing technical advice and support to Company project operations. ? Reporting the status of implementation of the Company Integrated Management System (IMS) at project level to the HSE Manager ? Advise the HSE Manager of improvement /changes needed to improve the effectiveness of the Company Integrated Management System (IMS) at project level. ? Provide guidance, induction and training in environmental aspects to all site staff with respect to any aspect of the project HSE management system and the development of the Project Environmental Plans. ?
