Organisation Description
This purpose of this position is to ensure compliance with US and local country import and regulations and export laws and regulations on behalf of a Leading Global Oil and Gas Company in the EMEAI region, with especial attention to the Middle East, India, Russia and Eastern Europe. Â
Job Description
Support and advise sites on day to day trade compliance issues Facilitate the export and import of products across borders, including obtaining any licenses or permits Establish common and efficient import and export processes and procedures across the region Provide support on trade data needs (ECCN, country of origin, etc.) Co-ordinate compliance review and approval process on sensitive Middle East transactions Co-ordinate broker management program for sites Identify opportunities to maximize duty savings and border crossing efficiencies  Enhance export controls and screening processes across the region Determine requirements and provide guidance about servicing export destinations without company presence (e.g. Ukraine from Russia, Azerbaijan from Turkey, Saudi Arabia from Dubai) Co-ordinate metrics reporting relating to import and export transactions Create awareness of and competence in trade compliance issues across functions Support implementation of global import/export IT system and SAP Support EMEA Trade Compliance Manager on periodic reviews and audits  Reporting Structure and Band Level  This Band 4 position reports directly to Trade Compliance Manager, EMEA with a functional reporting line to the Operations Directors
Person Specification
Qualifications  Education: three-year Bachelorâs Degree (Preferred: Business/Economics/International Trade) Experience: minimum of 5 years trade compliance experience in industry or professional service firm (Preferred: expertise in Mid East and Eastern Europe laws and regulations  Experience, Skills and Abilities  Broad functional knowledge of US and local Customs controls and export regulations Understanding of US embargo country regulations relating to Iran and Syria Experience with HTS classification and other trade data issues Good knowledge and experience of managing duty minimization programmes/trade preference Import management experience Proactive, well-organized, and motivated for high-level performance Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills Knowledge of US export control regulations (EAR, ITAR) preferred Arabic language preferred  Location       (more...)
