Senior Management Training Supervisor

Core Functions :

To provide, under immediate supervision of the Head of Training and Development, professional-staff management expertise on personnel training and development matters, particularly of high-level administrative, supervisory and managerial positions. Oversees and participates in the training, development and pre-evaluation of all support departments related national staff. Will constantly be involved in post evaluation and follow up of their performance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities :

Oversees the training programs of those in managerial and supervisory positions and developing their technical and operational skills.

Supervises/manages/oversees candidate screening activities; identification and documentation of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA) requirements against official Job Description/Job families and determines appropriate methodologies or tools to ensure the relevance of the training for which the candidate is recommended for;

Directs and advises managers on their personal development

Develops executive education pathways

Performs counselor duties such as providing assistance on issues related to social, emotional, or academic difficulties.
For lower level staff

Assists the Development Councilor with staff orientation and training. Will also conduct workshops with trainees on issues such as stress management and conflict resolution

Assigns employees/trainees to councilors to ensure appropriate expertise on behalf of the counselor and to maintain equitable work loads

Reviews recommendations for promotions.

Reviews curriculum proposals

Advises HRD on the need for in-house program development.

Identifies Line managers/Departmental operational requirements;

Set up of training specifications and technical requirements;

Researches suitable solutions and estimating costs and timescales;

Liaises with clients (Managers/Departments) and training contractors;

Attends to meetings on site - departments and contractors;

Designing and conducting tests, and recording, analysing and interpreting the test data;

Proposes modifications and retesting;

Tests and qualities the final development system;

Monitors a course in use so as to improve on future design.

Most important, designs, implements, updates and develops a Qatarisation plan and meets the targets in the most efficient and cost effective way. Putting in mind the development of career paths for Qataris, succession plans and target job plans.

Performs other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by relevant authorities.

Supervisory Responsibility :

Sets the overall objectives and resources available. Supervisor and employee, in consultation, develop deadlines, projects, and work to be done. The employee plans and carries out the assignment, resolves most of the conflicts, coordinates work with others and interprets policy on own initiative. The employee keeps the supervisor informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications.

Qualification Requirements: (Minimum Requirements)
Education and Training (e.g. BS in Electrical Engineering, post-secondary secretarial training, etc) :

A Masters Degree in Occupational/Industrial Psychology or a PhD in related field of training, or MBA or bachelors degree with professional certification in training.

Job Experience (e.g.: 5-year experience in the relevant field of work)

Minimum of 8 years in the related profession with a minimum of 2 years of directly applicable hands-on executive training and supervisory experience is required.

Other Significant Requirements : (e.g. Knowledge Skills and Abilities, e.g. able to read, write and speak English as a second language)

Good in the speaking, reading and writing of English

Very good communication skills.

Planning skills

Counseling skills

Knowledge of training methodologies including the application of training principles, concepts, practices, and standards is critical
