MAJOR MIDDLE EAST TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMPANY REQUIRES A SENIOR LEGAL COUNCIL FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLE:
To review all documentation from a legal perspective and provide legal advice, ensuring that the organisation complies with legal and regulatory requirements. This person undertaking the role will work with most of organisations departments providing legal support across every aspect of the business, with a particular focus on strategic acquisitions projects, finance, corporate governance and corporate secretariat. This role is responsible for supervising the quality of legal support provided by the other Legal team members. ROLE / ACCOUNTABILITIES: Provide legal support to all areas of the business, including: Review, draft and negotiate agreements & customer contracts. Provide legal advice (written & verbal) on request regarding business issues. Provide compliance/interpretation advice regarding internal Regulations, contractual procedures, external legislation and other regulatory requirements Manage external legal advisors Advice and draft on specific focus areas i.e. mergers and acquisitions, finance, corporate governance, and corporate secretariat.
Represent Legal in the organisations Committees and virtual teams Assist other business units in developing and drafting their policies/ regulations ensuring customer & commercial focus also compliance to Company regulations. Supervise legal support provided by Legal team members ensuing: Quality of documents (i.e. legal accuracy, English expression and practical commercial solutions focus) before submission to Group Legal Counsel for signature. Supervise management of litigation activities.
