Large international contractor requires experienced individual for their multi-million USD port project in Qatar. As the project has another 18 month life-span you will have have extensive experience in the Middle East and therefore have the knowledge of suppliers etc. Skills Principal Duties: * Identification, scheduling and procurement of the project construction materials to meet the requirements of the established program of work and the specifications as defined in the contract. * Prepares the purchasing materials and equipment delivery schedules in accordance with the overall and detailed work programs. * Proposes the most suitable sources of supply taking into consideration the combined factors of quality, price, and delivery that are most economical to the project. * Monitors receipt, issue, and usage of materials in order to keep stocks at an adequate level and to determine and report on wastage. * Identifies and compiles from contract documents all quantities and specifications of materials and equipment required for the project. Studies prices as shown in the budget, and recommends substitute materials and/or equipment where in his opinion they would be more advantageous to the project. * Reviews the overall and the detail BBT
