6 X Contracts Manager - Middle East
To ensure that site and contract under his jurisdiction are managed efficiently with the object of maximising profitability whilst maintaining standards and relationships. To proactively provide expert support to the Project Manager through, in addition to other duties, anticipation, identification, evaluation and treatment of contractual risks and to manage contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management/ Administration
Provide management, motivation and direction to their respective team. Provide support to the Project Manager in all contractual and commercial issues. Prevention (anticipation, identification, evaluation and treatment) of contractual risks, managing contractual obligations and unclear interfaces and to creation of opportunities. Assist, motivate and direct where necessary, Project Managers and the Contracts Manager Middle East, with promptly feeding the REX (return of Experience) system in order to treat/prevent observed malfunctioning and share good ideas for future contracts.
Monitor, control and assist the implementation of the change management system. Monitor, control and assist as necessary, contract monitoring and reporting procedures. Troubleshoot as necessary. Ensure adequate and suitable resources are available for the contract Negotiating remedies. Anticipate, Identify and avoid of potential issues/ problems. Attend and hold meetings and be proactive in the maintenance of relationships within such meetings.
Financial:
Manage the preparation, subsequently review and check and approve interim valuations prior to forwarding to Joint Venture Project Manager. Manage the compilation and subsequently check and review and approve the JV partners' interim valuations prior to forwarding to Joint Venture Project Manager. Provide support to the Project Manager in the preparation of all reports.
Claims:
Anticipation and identification of potential claims and opportunities arising from the JV Agreement, main Contract and any other contract/ agreement. To proactively anticipate, and to prepare claims and defence of claims and negotiation of such claims arising either the JV agreement, main contract or any other agreement/ contract. Proactively maintain and ensure compliance of claim registers and actions arising thereof
Relationship Management:
Proactively look for ways to improve relationships wherever possible Establish and manage communication framework. Establish and manage communication flows between stakeholders. Manage dispute resolution process Review, establish as necessary and manage contract monitoring/reporting procedures and ensure compliance. Review, establish as direct and manage teambuilding sessions, forums and workshops.
Specific Initial Project Duties:
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competencies:
Suitable qualification in Civil Engineering/ Quantity Surveying. Knowledge and proven ability in the management of construction contracts Sound knowledge of relevant Conditions of Contract. Well developed communication skills, both verbal and written, including demonstrated ability to control meetings, prepare reports and present recommendations to high levels. Current drivers license or the ability to obtain one.
Experience
5-10 years overall experience in the Contract Management of construc (more....)
