Deputy Chief Risk Officer Banking Pathway Resourcing Qatar Ref: HP421-275 Pathway Resourcing The Role The Role This role is primarily responsible for maintaining quality of credit portfolios at required standards; Approves credit proposals within authorized limits in adherence to the risk management policies of the bank; Assists relationship managers in structuring credit lines; Ensures compliance to all guidelines (internal or external). Ensures timely preparation of non performing loans report. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Supporting the development of Credit Risk policies, standards and practices for the approval, measurement, reporting, monitoring, managing limits and analysis of risk. - Developing a credit risk management culture by: - Promoting good analysis, judgment, flexibility and balance between risk and reward. - Regularly overseeing the Banks overall credit approval process through process reviews and assessment of KPI'S. - Developing an effective partnership with the Business on: - Assisting Division Heads in defining the portfolio strategies in terms of: - Concentration parameters considered relevant for the businesses. - Approving Target Market (TM) and Risk Acceptance Criteria (RAC). - Monitoring actual portfolio against target portfolio and working with Business Management to ensure that the actual portfolio is driven towards the target portfolio within an agreed time frame. - Determining material policy exceptions, and requesting the additional approval of the Chief Risk Officer. - Establishing risk-reporting requirements. - Managing the Credit Administration and Control (CAC) unit, Credit Policy Unit, Credit Analyst Unit, Portfolio Management Unit. - Recommending the appointment of Structured Finance Officers and industry specialists to the Chief Risk Officer. - Directing a team of Credit Officers and Senior Credit Officers for managing the bank portfolio. REQUIREMENTS: Education -Graduate Experience - 8-10 years of experience in financial services industry, preferably in corporate /risk management functions. MUST have experience signing for credit limits! Technical Skills - Knowledge of the regulatory environment; Familiarity with the banking industry, product offerings of the bank and general economic/market trends. Financial and risk analysis skills.
