Assistant Medical Director Quality and Patient Safety Jerry Varghese International (JVI) Doha, Qatar Ref: HP599-224 Jerry Varghese International (JVI) The Role The Role POSITION SUMMARY Within the mission, vision, & value this position provides leadership, direction, & encouragement for quality improvement and patient safety programs. Working in partnership with clinicians, nursing, and allied-health professionals, the Assistant Medical Director, Quality and Patient Safety provides the leadership necessary to achieve best practice levels in quality and patient safety while implementing evidenced based medical practices. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Act as a champion for quality & patient safety across the Corporation, providing leadership in raising performance targets and results, and in driving continuous improvement. Establishes and updates criteria and standards to implement a Corporate-wide QM program based on, and in line with quality improvement and patient safety objectives. Keep apeast of international best practices, including Joint Commission guidelines, for standards of clinical and patient care. Continuously improve performance on quality improvements through developing solutions, mapping processes for changes to workflow, systems, policies, guidelines, and practices. Ensure appropriate communication and education is provided to staff at all levels concerning standards and practices to maintain quality and safety. Conduct audits on quality performance, and provide advice towards improving compliance with standards. Plan, design, and supervise the implementation of programs that aim at monitoring quality & safety performance of various departments Identify areas for improvement in clinical practice and areas of possible anomalies in the health system through various quality management programs and initiatives, and translate the findings into action plans that aim at reducing shortfalls. Prepare regular departmental reports illustrating the findings and outcomes of departmental QM activities and programs. Requirements Requirements QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE Candidate must have Medical Degree or equivalent in Health Services Administration preferably with Masters or Doctoral Degree. Minimum of 7 years quality management experience at a senior level and excellent knowledge in Biostatistics and Health Research.
