Assistant Medical Director Decision Support Unit Jerry Varghese International (JVI) Doha, Qatar Ref: HP599-223 Jerry Varghese International (JVI) The Role The Role POSITION SUMMARY Within the mission, vision, & value this position leads the decision support unit, providing clinical & executive leadership and oversight of the healthcare decision support programs to improve outcomes, streamline workflow, & enhance patient care. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Supports corporate strategy, vision, & plans, while identifying opportunities for growth & expansion of current services. Stays informed of current and emerging issues & trends within the healthcare sector. Designs & delivers health economic studies. Takes responsibility for the identification and acquisition of data resources. Oversees the execution of respective database, survey, and chart abstraction studies. Develop evidence-based clinical guidelines & content to improve best practices and patient safety. Communicates & educates staff on requirements, changes, advances, opportunities, directions and projections for the future. Coordinates with other corporate departments and hospitals to support activities. Oversees project teams and manages study budgets, & timelines. Leads project teams in systems selection, development, & implementation. Takes responsibility for the integrity of the data warehouse, including implementation of development, and documentation of policies & procedures, internal controls, & integrity testing. Develops well-enabled performance-based reports within the Decision Support unit. Collect, analyze and act upon data leading to improved care, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Mentors and trains new research staff as needed. Requirements Requirements QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Candidate must have a medical degree preferably a Masters or Doctoral degree in health services research (HSR), health economics, epidemiology, sociology, psychology or equivalent. Minimum of 7 years research experience including project management and designing research studies.
