Senior ISP Network Engineer Nawras Oman Ref: GP843-48 Nawras The Role The Role You will be leading assigned duties regarding designing and deploying of ISP network including international peering maintenance and dimensioning ISP network based on traffic and customer growth. You will be responsible for creation and keeping up to date the technical documentation and diagrams for ISP network. You will prepare specifications for ISP network expansion and providing expertise on optimising the performance of IP based services. You will design the environment for new IP based services and initiate and manage required projects in planning, implementation and optimisation of new IP based services. You will evaluate and fine tuning QoS of existing IP based services. You will be responsible for the integration of new services into existing IP network, configuring and maintaining high-end MPLS WAN aggregation environment providing DSL, WiMax, GPON, Wireless and E1 connectivity to extensive customer bases. You will handle the seamless switchover between backbone providers and configure/maintain BGP peering. You will deploy network control solutions, upgrade hardware and software configurations, cooperate with vendor engineers in identifying and resolving complex hardware and software problems, and performing migrations of equipment and interfaces. You will plan system monitoring mechanisms that rapidly detect and block any security intrusion and service assaults. You will build smart networks that support a wide selection of functions over a single infrastructure and be involved in combining application pieces such as layers 3 and 2 VPNs, Traffic Engineering (TE) and Quality of Service in MPLS. Requirements Requirements You have a B.Sc.E.E. in Telecommunications or Computer Science. You have 4 years of experience at the same/similar role in a telecom company. You have excellent knowledge of advanced IP routing and switching, Cisco and Juniper in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with: MPLS switching and its signaling protocols LDP, RSVP, traffic engineering, IP routing protocols: BGP, IS-IS, OSPF.IP/MPLS based business services L2VPN, VPLS, L3VPN, Internet access, IP/MPLS based residential services Voice, Video, Internet O&M for IP based services (diagnosis of network health and troubleshooting of possible problems). You are Cisco certified CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Juniper certified JNCIA, JNCIS. You are creative with analytical mind. You have strong troubleshooting skills with comprehensive project understanding knowledge. You have a business sense to make cost vs. technology trade-offs. You have excellent communication skills and management skills.
