Network Architect, Fibre Optics > Muscat, Oman My client is a government owned company within Oman who were formed to plan, execute and operate the wastewater collection, treatment and reclaimed water distribution system in the governorate of Muscat. Having recently been awarded a large wastewater scheme in Muscat that includes the instillation of a fibre optic duct system, they are looking to consolidate their expertise within the sector. This long term position is for an experienced Fibre Optic Network Architect to join this project team and assist on the development of design rULes for the telecom unitsâ fibre optic infrastructure using my clients duct system. Requirements:
Degree qualified Telecommunications Engineer. Minimum of 5 years experience gained within a senior and responsible network architect position within a modern fixed network operator, cable TV operator or turnkey equipment and services vendor. Experience in planning, construction and operation of complex fixed telecommunications infrastructure involving significant external plant, preferably fibre based. Operational background in external, internal plant and fibre networks in a telecom environment. Responsibilities:
Develop specifications for systems and components required to implement my clientâs FTTx network (Passive network components, point to point fibre equipment, GPON systems and equipment etc.). Defining and delivering a wholesale fibre service model with service level agreements. This model may include both passive (dark fibre) and active (bit stream) style services. Developing specifications and designs for a fULl service high speed FTTx network. Strategies and designs will be proven by means of a limited commercial trial of the service. Implementation and operation of a set of electronic records for recording the external fibre network assets and customer connectivity.
