Job Description Responsible for physically carrying out the drilling operation on hoist under the supervision of Rig Managers and Night Tool Pushers Responsible for the safety of all drilling crew working under him Liaises with other third party contractors Responsible for maintaining tally and dimensional sketch of all down hole equipment Responsible for maintaining casing tally . Responsible for maintaining all drilling equipments under him Responsible for Well Control Carries out TBT Operate and maintain the rig mud system, including the mud pumps, centrifugal pumps, filtration system equipment, all valving and pipework related to the mud system, and all monitoring equipment related to the brine/mud system. Operate the Hoist. The duty station is the Driller’s panel, which includes brakes, throttles, clutches, and various gauges. The Assistant Driller is able to raise and lower the rod and tubular strings in a controlled manner, and by monitoring the various gauges closely, make adjustments as conditions require. Run or assist in running various special tools for workover and well repair procedures. In many cases specialist and/or service company personnel are available to help the Assistant Driller do this. Assist in training of the crew in the optimum safe performance of its duties and the proper care and maintenance of the hoist and auxiliary equipment. Advise the Driller of any abnormal operating conditions, and suspend operations of these abnormal operating conditions could possibly contribute to or create an unsafe situation. Ensure that WPH equipment, well site equipment, and wellsite areas are kept clean and serviceable at all times. Organize rig equipment and downhole tools as required to ensure no time wastage when proceeding to the next phase of the well repair/work program Take instruction from the Driller on a daily basis with regard to tasks for both the Assistant Driller and other crewmembers, and assist the Driller in carrying out these tasks. Stress the safety program to the rig crew and make sure that it is followed. By setting a good example, and ensuring compliance with company safe work practices, the Assistant Driller will be able to develop safe work habits within his crewmembers. Assist the Driller in training rig personnel and targeting people with potential for promotion. Adequately and promptly investigating and reporting all accidents and near misses. Checking that all facilities, tools and equipment, in use within your area of supervisory responsibility are in a safe operable condition. Ensuring that any tools, equipment and vehicles, brought into your area of the Company operation by subcontractors, and intended for use on behalf of MBPSare in a safe operable condition. Holding regular HSE meetings with your workforce and, where applicable, other persons, such as contractors, subcontractors and vendors representatives. Conducting regular inspections and audits of the facilities under your control in order to identify and eliminate hazards to health, safety and the environment. Participation in the follow-up and close-out of inspection and audit findings.
