The Role

The Role Reports To: School Principal / Secretary General – BSCBCD.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the building principal works to create a flexible kindergarten program and kindergarten

environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills,

attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further participation in the total school program, in accordance with

each pupil's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*

Provides learning experiences in language arts, social studies, pre-reading, arithmetic, science, art, physical education and music to

pupils, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities.

Develops and uses instructional materials suitable for verbal or visual instruction of pupils with wide range of mental, physical and

emotional maturities.

Provides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and help the pupils make a satisfactory transition to school.

Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve effective participation in all activities without interfering with

the naturally informal atmosphere of a kindergarten.

Evaluates academic and social growth of pupils and keeps appropriate records.

Communicates with parents through a variety of means. Holds parent conferences to discuss the individual pupil's progress and interprets

the school program.

Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assess and helping pupils solve health, attitude and

learning problems.

Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards and interest centers.

Maintains professional competence through ins-ervice education activities provided by the district and self-selected professional growth

activities.

Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which the teacher will be evaluated in

conformance with district guidelines.

Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids; maintains required inventory records.

Ensures a comfortable room environment through control of heating, lighting, and ventilation to the extent possible.

Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during assigned working day.

Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs as required.

Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of pupil activities. Requirements

Requirements MARGINAL FUNCTIONS*

1. Performs other job duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Necessary to Performance of Essential Functions:

1. Possess problem solving skills.

2. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, school staff, district staff, and patrons.

3. Communicates effectively.

4. Knowledge of State Core Curriculum and Board of Education adopted guidelines as provided to him/her by the school

Required Education and Training for Essential Functions:

1. Valid KG/Primary teaching license and must have an early years teaching diploma or diploma in education.

Special education experience is a plus!

Salary Package:

Shall be paid a base salary of $1323 US Dollars, Which is equal to Five hundred Bahraini

Dinars each Month. Salary will be paid in the local currency of Bahrain(BD

500/MONTH).

•The school will provide a sharing accommodation with another teacher [Female, working

at the school] in a two bedroom accommodation.

•The school will provide one roundtrip economy class air-ticket for the employee [From

his/her country of residence to Bahrain and back] per contract term.

•Insurance registration as per the laws KINGDOM OF BAHRAIN GENERAL
