General Position Summary:
Reporting to the overall Program Manager of a major, flagship international effort in the security arena, The Civil Engineering and Construction Project Manager will have oversight of all civil engineering and construction ârelated tasks and infrastructure build-outs related to the project, comprising: architectural and engineering design support, construction and subcontractor oversight and other duties as required in the Civil Engineering areas of expertise. Position is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Primary Responsibilities:
Overall Civil Engineering and Construction project direction and leadership. Function as Subject Matter Expert on all civil engineering and construction matters. Management of in-country team responsible for Construction, Installation, Deployment and Infrastructure. Management of subcontractors and vendors for all 3d party construction and civil engineering issues. Initiate independent vendor quality and assessment program â ensure all 3d party subcontractors follow a well-defined industry-standard delivery process. Work with UAE public offices to ensure project meets local building code guidelines and permit issuing authority.
Desired Education/Certifications: BS in Civil Engineering; Masters Degree Preferred PMP certification, PE license, ASCE or equivalent regional professional licensing and associations.
Required Skills: 15 years plus progressively responsible experience in Civil/Architectural/Engineering. Management of large-scale, multi-faceted construction projects in the UAE or other Middle East or GCC country. Working knowledge of UAE/Middle East/GCC codes, guidelines and best practices as relates to construction and engineering. Experience managing subcontractors and vendors operating in the UAE. Public works experience, including underground utilities installation and other urban public works infrastructure (water, electrical, sewer, fiber optic cable, etc). Strong electrical and mechanical experience. Strong customer-facing skills required.
