Engineer
Requisition: O17-70005367
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: BS Chemical Engineering. Experience:Seven (7) years of professional experience in the oil, Petrochemical or similar process industry. Excellent oral and writing English is required. Other: Must have an acceptable knowledge of engineering practice and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, International Codes, Standards and Specifications. He should be familiar with process unit hardware constraints and operation, instrumentation /control system, electrical, rotating equipments and material/corrosion analysis. Thermodynamics, Fluid Flow and Chemistry, mass and energy balances, computer application. Position Description: 1. Perform in-depth monitoring and optimize performance of assigned units by monitoring units operation. Calculating economics losses. Simulation models are to be used to optimize unit operations and to support process parameters changes. 2. Performs engineering studies, design, development and control of assigned projects to improve safety, reliability and profitability. Prepare the design requests, budget justification and detailed implementation plans for economically justifiable project. 3. Train younger or less- experience engineers by providing necessary guidance, assessing strengths and skills in need of improvement. Serve as technical mentor/advisor to enhance the technical knowledge of the engineers through practical field discussions, demonstrations and/or simulations using available engineering aids. Prepare fair evaluations for performance appraisals and recommend development activities that improve skill weaknesses. 4. Support Operations during T&I and unplanned shutdowns/ startups by understanding the unit operating conditions and transient effects of startup and shutdown to recommend operations improvements in startup and shutdown procedures. 5. Perform specific area tasks such as; catalyst/desiccant forecast/evaluation, test run, de-bottlenecking studies, taskforces, HAZOP studies and any other process related items. Maintain continuous contact with Central Engineering to ensure that advanced state-of-art catalyst/desiccant and other chemicals are being used in the Refinery. 6. Troubleshoot unit operation by taking the lead in unit upsets to investigating off-spec. Products and plant trips/shutdowns and issuing the required investigation reports. 7. Apply environmental and safety awareness by always applying the safety regulations and adhering to the environmental protection rules. Also work closely with the environmental Protection Div. and Refinery s safety and environment engineers to improve safety and achieve highest environmental standards. Apply SHL |
