Job Code: SVD/05/003 Primary Purpose of the Job Plans, supervises, leads data related projects and manages associated contracts required to meet the business objectives of the Asset Teams and Records Management. The overall focus is on providing a high-quality comprehensive suite of data (petrophysical, geological, geophysical, reservoir and production) for QP and its partners. This position will proactively advise the Records Management Team and the Asset Teams in managing data according to the QP standards and procedures and in conformance with ITD computing practices and standards. Develops and implements Petrophysical data processing and QA/QC related policies and procedures for providing a secure data environment for Records Management Projects and the Corporate Database.
Education BS or Graduate Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or Petroleum Engineering or related subject.
Experience 10-15 years experience in Petroleum Engineering, of which at least five years should be in Petrophysical Engineering, Exploration or Development. Also desirable to have some records management / data management experience. Supervisory experience desirable but not mandatory.
Knowledge / Skills Required ·Displays project management, data management and negotiation skills. Requires a strong ability to manage diverse opinions and develop consensus as well as tactfully diffuse confrontational situations. ·Displays a rudimentary understanding of all types of subsurface data and acquisition methods including LWD, well testing, coring, downhole sampling as well as related surface data acquisition such as surface production metering and sampling. ·Proficient in the use of email, PC software (such as word processor, spreadsheet and presentation software for communications and project management), UNIX, database software (such as Finder) and data editing software (such as GeoFrame). ·Basic knowledge of interpretation software associated with Project Data Stores (such as Geoframe, OpenWorks or SeisWorks). Basic to intermediate level of knowledge on systems design / integration and networks.
