Job Description:

Responsibilities

This position requires an individual knowledgeable in overall Distributed Control Systems, desalination, boiler management, and Steam Turbine electrical and mechanical control systems, Optimization, and Condition Monitoring Applications.
* Apply engineering principles to analyze, propose, design, test, and troubleshoot complex plant automation systems retrofit projects during the Order to Remittance (OTR) phase of the project.
* Provide technical leadership for projects on OC Controls' Distributed Controls Systems utilizing the Xin Hua product line, under the overall management responsibility of the project manager. Accountable for project deliverables, understanding customer needs compliance, and on-time schedule performance.
* Design communications interface to existing turbine and plant control systems.
* Strong working knowledge of industry codes and standards adopted by prominent customers in the region. Particular experience with IEEE; NEC; NFPA, SIL an advantage.
* Provide cross-functional technical support and guidance to others in the OS Applications group.
* Ability to travel for interaction with customers and suppliers, and to conduct site surveys.

Qualifications

* Extensive knowledge of currently available DCS technologies, and their application.
* Good understanding of turbine controls systems applications.
* Good understanding of condition monitoring applications.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
* Electronics and/or mechanical trouble shooting skills.
* "Hands-on approach".
* Self-starter with minimal supervision requirement; able to work independently; ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.
* Ability to set and meet aggressive targets.

Desired

* Experience in boiler controls, power plant applications, and Ovation or WDPF control system technology is preferred.
* Experience with GE MkIV and MkV turbine controls.
* Experience with Fanuc or Allen bradley PLC's. BT
